WORLD DIRT RACING LEAGUE DRIVERS RACE TO BOONE COUNTY JULY 20

Only 12 points separating first through third in the series standings

By Bucky Doren
WORLD Dirt Racing League

Albion , Neb. (July 11, 2008) -- The cars and stars of the WORLD Dirt
Racing League will soon invade the Boone County Fair here. Fans can grab a
corn dog and watch the best dirt Late Model drivers hit the fast
three-eighths-mile oval on Sunday, July 20.

Racing fans are revved up for the WDRL Late Model Series appearance.

"Advance tickets have been selling like crazy," said Boone County Raceway
promoter Dave Warner. "I can't wait until race day. The stands have been
packed each time the WDRL came to Boone County Raceway, and it looks like
it will be another night a race fan shouldn't miss."

To pre order tickets, racing fans can call (402) 741-2579.

Hot laps are set for 5:30 p.m. July 20 with Iowa-Illinois Taylor
Insulation Qualifying to follow. The CrashedToys.com Heat Races will hit
the track at 6 that night.

"We're excited to have the WDRL back," Warner added. "Jim ( Wilson ) and
his crew run a professional program. The drivers are a pleasure to work
with, too. It's always a nicely run program."

With only 12 points separating first through third in the series
standings, the on-track racing won't be the only battle that spectators
will be watching.

John Kaanta of Elk Mound, Wis. , who will bring his no. 85 mount to Albion
, is on top of the WDRL Late Model Series point standings. Kaanta has
scored three straight top-five WDRL Late Model Series finishes including a
win at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb. , on July 3.

Chad Simpson of Mount Vernon, Iowa, is also riding a three straight
top-five streak. Simpson finds himself just two points back in the chase
for the 2008 WDRL championship. Simpson is the touring series' most recent
winner. He piloted his no. 25 to the win at Clay County Speedway in
Spencer , Iowa , on July 4.

The no. 90x of Eric Pember, Pittsville , Wis. , is just 12 points back in
third. Pember has finished fourth in the last two WDRL Late Model Series
events. Frank Heckenast Jr. of Orland Park , Ill. , and Chris Simpson of
Oxford , Iowa , round out the top five in WDRL points.
