SAM KETCHAM TO BE RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL TONIGHT; CONTRIBUTION INFORMATION NOW AVAILABLE FOR STEVE GUTHRIE, JR. By Mike Leone Mercer, PA… April 6, 2007 - Mercer Raceway Park just received good news this Friday afternoon; Sam Ketcham will be coming home! Ketcham was injured in the pit area during the March 31 season opener at Mercer Raceway Park and after spending the week in the Allegheny General Hospital, he’s to be released to his home in Jackson Center, Pennsylvania tonight. The good news came from his girlfriend Shelly Pennington. Shelly also said that Sam is anxious to see familiar faces. Cards and well wishes can reach him at 29 Lamb Road, Jackson Center, PA 16133. Also, those wishes to send donations and contributions to the late Steve Guthrie, Jr. are asked to make checks payable to the Steve Guthrie Memorial Fund at the Grove City Area FCU at 1 Credit Union Way, Grove City, PA 16127. Mercer Raceway Park held its first auto race on July 26, 1951 and is located minutes from both Interstate 79 and 80 just off Route 19 on Fairground Road in Mercer, Pa. Dirt track racing and quality family entertainment are presented weekly late March through September.
