LAKEVILLE SPEEDWAY'S FAN APPRECIATION OPENER SET FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 20th WITH 6 DIVISIONS IN ACTION

Lakeville, Ohio - Monday, April 2, 2007 - By Mike Swanger - As peeks of warmer weather start to show, interest in for the 2007 racing season also builds for Lakeville Speedway with the traditional $5 general admission Fan Appreciation night sponsored by Red Ferris Chevrolet of Wooster set for Friday, April 20th featuring the Late Models, Pure Stocks, Mini Stocks, Mini Trucks, Cruisers, and debuting the Fastrack Modifieds. These will be powered by crate motors and will carry a $1,000 to win season championship money plus a three track championship worth $6,000 to the winner. The motors will be a 602 or a 604 GM motor and can be purchased through RMP Powertrain Solutions. For the 2007 season, regular modifieds will be able to run with this class. All the rules for this class and all divisions are available on Lakeville Speedway's website.
The biggest interest is going toward the Big 8 Series for the Super Late Models and the Sprints that will have Lakeville Speedway hosting the Friday night portions of the series and Wayne County Speedway hosting the Saturday night action. Those week ends will be June 1st and 2nd, June 29th and 30th, August 3rd and 4th and August 31st and September 1st for the Super Late Models. The dates for the Sprints will be June 8th and 9th, July 13th and 14th, August 10th and 11th, and Sunday, September 2nd and Monday, September 3rd (Labor Day). Both of these Series' will pay $2,000 to win each feature and $25,000 to any driver that can win 4 features and $50,000 for five checkered flags.
In the regular Late Model class at Lakeville Speedway, Mike Lonas will be looking to defend his title and chase after his fourth championship and add on to his track high total of 53 feature wins. Paul McVicker will try to repeat his championship run in the Pure Stocks. Zero Walter will have his work cut out for him to repeat in the Mini Stocks. Winning a track high seven features last year, Brandon Craver will be looking to dominate the Mini Trucks again. Missing the first two weeks last year, Mike Finger edged into the Cruiser crown with 5 wins down the stretch for his first title.
Practice night will be Wednesday, April 18th for all classes of cars beginning at 6 p.m until dark as gates will open at 5 p.m. Pit pass will be $20. For more information of the upcoming season at Lakeville Speedway, call the office at 419- 827- 5205.
