SKI MOTORSPORTS, SMITH AND WESSON AND MIKE BLISS TO CAMPAIGN IN 2007 MOORESVILLE, N.C. (March 1, 2007) – SKI Motorsports, the Charlotte, N.C. based independent affiliate of SKI & Company, announced today that it will once again campaign the No. 30 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS on a limited basis in the NASCAR Busch Series in 2007. Veteran driver and 2002 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Champion Mike Bliss and primary sponsor Smith & Wesson will return for the third consecutive season with the team. Bliss, a Milwaukie, Ore. native, has built an impressive resume in the NASCAR Busch Series. Bliss has amassed one win, three pole awards, 14 top-five and 29 top-10 finishes spanning eight seasons in the series. “I am excited to partner with Chris Lencheski, his SKI Motorsports program and Smith and Wesson again this season,” said Bliss. “Whether in racing or business, we all share a commitment to a higher standard in what we do. It is that dedication to quality that will lead us to success on the track.” Bliss and the Smith and Wesson team will be led by returning crew chief Bob Schacht. Schacht served as crew chief with the organization during the 2006 NASCAR Busch Series season alongside Bliss. “I am looking forward to having the opportunity to work with Mike Bliss, SKI Motorsports and Smith and Wesson again,” commented Schacht. “We all work well together and share the same goal of competitive racing every time the No. 30 Smith and Wesson Chevy takes the track.” Smith & Wesson, renowned provider of products and services for safety, security, protection and sport for more than 153 years, will serve as primary sponsor on the No. 30 SKI Motorsports Chevrolet for four race events in the 2007 season. Scheduled races include Chicagoland Speedway, the Memorial Day weekend race at California Speedway, as well as the final races of the season at Lowe's Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway. “Sponsorship of a NASCAR Busch Series program is a perfect fit for Smith & Wesson,” said Tom Taylor, Vice President of Marketing for Smith & Wesson. “We’re a high performance products company with a strong American heritage, and there’s nothing more all-American and high performance than NASCAR and the NASCAR fan.” With the continued challenges facing teams without NEXTEL Cup team affiliations in the NASCAR Busch Series, SKI Motorsports strives to set the competitive standard among teams in its class. “We are pleased to reunite with Smith and Wesson for a third season in NASCAR Busch Series competition,” commented Chris Lencheski, president of SKI Motorsports and its parent SKI & Company agency. “I feel that this partnership, along with the return of Mike Bliss and Bob Schacht, is a proven successful combination in an ever-changing sport.“ SKI Motorsports anticipates the announcement of new partners joining Smith and Wesson on the No. 30 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS in the coming days.
