Steve Shaver and the Shaver Motorsports/Cosgove
Racing Team Preparing for March Events after Successful
Florida Speedweeks
VIENNA, WV (March 8, 2007)- Steve Shaver and the Shaver Motorsports/Cosgrove
Racing Team are busy preparing for several upcoming events in March after
returning home from Florida and the 2007 speedweeks. Steve and the Shaver
Motorsports/Cosgrove Racing, Ludicrous Energy Drink team enjoyed posted several
good finishes during the 2007 Florida Speedweeks including a big win at East Bay
Raceway on Friday February 9th that paid $10,000 to win. The victory came during
the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned events in Tampa Florida as Steve
captured the 50-lap feature event in front of packed house at the famous raceway
in Tampa.
Steve's final stats for the two weeks of competition in Florida included
finishes of 14th, 12th, 1st, and 26th at East Bay Raceway during the Lucas Oil
Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned events. Steve then competed at Volusia
Speedway Park the following week and posted several good finishes including a
5th, 14th, 6th and a 15th on the final night of competition that was sanctioned
by the World of Outlaws Late Model Dirt Series. "We were very pleased with
our performances for the two weeks. We felt like our finishes really didn't
reflect how good we ran other than the night we got a win. The competition is so
tough for those two weeks that it doesn't take much to miss a feature. So we
were pleased to make as many features and run really well in most of them",
stated Steve from his home in West Virginia. "I really have to thank all my
crew for their hard work and support of our race team. These guys worked their
butts off for two weeks and they deserve to be mentioned. Casey Marshall
(Bulldog), Brian Hayes (Bondo) and Everette Shears (Bubba) made my job a lot
easier and really prepared our cars to perfection. I also want to thank Cy
Wilson for coming to Florida and helping out as well", Steve went on to
say.
Steve's upcoming race schedule includes competing at three World of Outlaw Late
Model sanctioned events on March 23,24 and 25th in LA, MS and AL for three one
day events. From there Steve will travel to Brownstown Speedway in Indiana on
March 31st for a $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned
event. Steve possibly will travel this weekend to Columbus Speedway in MS for
two unsanctioned late model events paying $2,000 to win on Friday march 9th and
$10,000 to win on Saturday March 10th. This event is tentatively on Steve's
schedule and will be a last minute decision to travel this weekend to Columbus,
MS.
