ASCS Patriots Rained Out at
McKean County Saturday, Rescheduled for September 1 For the third time in four tries, racing was cancelled at McKean County Raceway on a night when the sprint cars attempted to invade the beautiful 1/3-mile. Even though the skies were clear for parts of the afternoon, a heavy shower at approximately 4:00 p.m. ended all hopes of getting the program in. With a full card of racing and an early curfew, McKean County Raceway and ASCS Patriot officials agreed that the best thing to do would be to reschedule the event for September 1. The Labor Day Weekend event will now be the second-to-last point race of the 2007 season, with an improved field expected to be on hand for what is hopefully a better day weather wise. Also improving for this race, almost four months down the road, will be the tow money. To compensate for the gas money spent for ASCS Patriot teams that traveled down to MCR on Saturday, competitors will now receive an additional $50 each from the speedway when they return in the fall. Focus now shifts to the Black Rock Speedway for the ASCS Patriots. The ASCS National Tour is set to head into the Northeast and do battle at the former home of the Patriot Region. Racing for the Bully Hill Vineyards NY Sprint Nationals, presented by S.P. Wilson and Budweiser will take place next Friday and Saturday, with an open practice being held on Thursday.
